Cain and Abel
Long ago, when the world was still new, there lived two brothers named Cain and Abel. Cain, the older brother, was a dedicated farmer. He worked tirelessly in the fields, planting crops, growing vegetables, and nurturing fruit trees until their branches bent under the weight of ripened fruit. Abel, the younger brother, was a shepherd. He loved his animals deeply, caring for his sheep with a gentle hand and a kind heart.
Even though they were brothers, Cain and Abel couldn’t have been more different. This often made their relationship complicated. Cain sometimes felt frustrated when his crops didn’t thrive as he hoped. He couldn’t help but notice how Abel’s sheep always seemed happy and healthy. Meanwhile, Abel sometimes wished his brother would open up and share his feelings.
One day, Cain and Abel each decided to bring an offering to God. Cain gathered the best fruits and grains from his fields, crafting a generous display, while Abel chose the finest lamb from his flock. Both approached the altar with hearts full of hope. However, when they presented their offerings, something unexpected happened. Abel’s offering seemed to bring more favor, while Cain’s went seemingly unnoticed.
