Keep it simple

Keep it simple. It’s more important than you think!

With all things in life, nature tends to try to make things simple. The best way to avoid something is to not be there. If something is going to hit you move out of the way. Get to a safe zone. Get out of the power zone. Eat or be eaten.

When training we tend to do what works for us. If you are good with your hands, we train hands. If you are good with your feet, we train feet. The more familiar you become with what you are good at the easier it becomes. We still train other things so that if a situation occurs we can do something.

In self-defense, we try to avoid a threat whenever possible. If it becomes unavoidable meet it head on but do it on your terms. Take a superior position with no part of your body unguarded. Redirect all threats so you are not in the line of attack. Get to that safe zone. Take their balance. Do enough damage to get away.

Our goal is to get away. Be the one who goes home.
